This is SPN 117, Advanced Spanish Composition, also listed as Writing Intensive. In this class we cover Advanced Spanish Grammar lessons while we enhance the tools to improve the students’ writing in Spanish. The editorial line I chose to unite the lessons is autobiography. Students will have the opportunity to tell their story, their origins, travels, heritage, projects and dreams as native and/ or heritage speakers of the Spanish language living in New York. The readings, writing prompts and online discussions will encourage them to reflect as individuals with a particular identity, and how they belong and search for belonging in the United States of America.
Is is taught fully in Spanish by Prof. Natasha Tiniacos ([email protected]) in an asynchronous way, with OER/ ZTC with the support of the Open Pedagogy Fellowship of the Mina Rees Library, the Graduate Center – CUNY.
